Lectures are available in three versions: outlines, slides and Powerpoint presentations.
Outlines consist of text extracted from Powerpoint presentations as shown in class. They
transfer instantly
but have goofy formatting
and omit illustrations, maps, and graphs
Slides are screen captured images of Powerpoint presentations. They
transfer slowly
and have poor screen resolution
but help review illustrations, maps, and graphs shown in the lecture
Powerpoint shows require a lot of resources:
Win95 and Office97 (not tested on Office95)
~10 mb free disc space
lots of memory
a fiber-optic connection (modems are too slow)
and endless patience for downloading files
