Welcome to the Col-IPUMS Collaboratory

Integrated Public Use Microdata Series of Colombian Censuses, 1964-2001
A project funded by the National Institutes of Health (USA)

The Col-IPUMS collaboratory is creating the first international, integrated Public Use census Microdata Samples (PUMS) for distribution via the Internet.

Scientifically drawn samples from the five Colombian censuses for the period 1964-2001 are being integrated into a single databank with uniform codes and documentation for release into the public domain.

The Col-IPUMS databank will constitute the richest source of quantitative information on long-term change for any Latin American population. The integrated Colombian IPUMS will be distributed over the Internet, free of charge, or by CD-ROM at a nominal cost.

This project is a collaboration between the

    The Col-IPUMS web-site provides a means of communication and exchange of information between the members of the research team.

    The public is cordially invited to view the site. Comments are welcome.
