NUMPREC indicates how many person records are included in the household (i.e., the number of person records associated with the household record in the sample). These person records will all have the same serial number (SERIAL) as the household record. The information contained in the household record will normally apply to all of these persons.

This variable is fully comparable across all samples. Note that some samples include vacant households.
