Does anyone use their internet bookmarks anymore? My old laptop died a sudden death, and the only thing not backed up was the bookmarks. Can't say I'm too sad what with Google making it so easy to find what I need.
Posted by robe0419 at January 22, 2005 02:34 PM | TrackBackTrouble is, I have a memory like a sieve: to use Google, you have to remember enough of a certain amount of information about something, or spend hours going through all the hits (which can be a great thing to do, but not if you quickly need that one thing...). Bookmarks organised into categories give me the quick 'oh yes, I remember that now' list. And I find they're still useful as a temporary dump for things I haven't had time to look at properly yet, which I'd probably totally forget the existence of otherwise.
But it wouldn't be a catastrophe if I lost them overnight. There's a lot of old shite in there I ought to pull out...
